Becoming the church we are called to be
The church should be imago Dei, the image of God.
At Otterbein, we pursue that through 4 goals:
1) a church should be focused on community, on loving one another as God loves;
2) a church should create ways to engage the fullness of the body beyond just worship on Sunday morning. Our hope would be that every individual should be able to engage a passionate love of God in a way that empowers them to empower others;
3) a church and its participants should be actively engaged in discipleship as a community of faith, whether through Sunday school, Bible studies, discipleship events, or other possibilities, every participant in the church should be actively pursuing the means to grow their faith;
4) and a church should be involved in mission and minsitry, both locally and globally, to be the mending hands of Christ to a broken, hungry, and hurting world.
