Thought for Today

"God's promises are longer than life, broader than sin, deeper than the grave, and higher than the clouds." - C. H. Spurgeon We can rely on God's promises, because he is always faithful. While they may not come to be in our timing, they will be fulfilled, regardless of whether we "deserve" them. He is always faithful.

  • Being the Church The church is not a building, but a body of believers with a specific nature and purpose.
Bible Studies We have begun a new bible study, in conjunction with our Dellroy church family. beginning at 6 each Tuesday evening, we meet in the Fellowship Hall to discuss God's Word. We have started with 1 Corinthians.
Community We work in our Community to get God's Word Out to Everyone. We provide many community events throughout the Year.
  • Praise & Worship
We are the Church! We are out in our community sharing God's Word. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
    Missions
OUMC provides many mission projects throughout the year in our area and beyond. Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, Harbor House, East Elementary School-NP, Dress-a-Child, Share-a-Christmas, Heifer International, Food Pantry
    Group Fellowship
Otterbein Faith Fellowship, Senior Lunches, Prayer Groups, United Women in Faith, Bible Studies
  • Faith
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! John 8:24 unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.
    Hope
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Jeremiah 29: 11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
    Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13: 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us to trust in your promises, and know that you are always faithful. While you may not fulfill them in our timing, or in the way we expect, you always fulfill your promises to us. Let us be truly grateful for your Son, who is the embodiment of the most important promise you made to your people. Help us to follow his example, and love one another as you love us. Help us to live as Jesus lived, being faithful to You, and seeking to live in his ways. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung Visit

The Bishop for the Ohio Episcopal Area of the United Methodist Church, Bishop Hee-Soo Jung paid a visit to Otterbein in February as part of his goal of visiting all 1,000 churches under his authority. He was eager to get to know a little about us and to pray with us for what we feel we need going forward. We felt very honored and blessed by his presence, as this is the first time that any of us remember getting a visit from our Bishop.

Please Join us on Sunday Mornings for Fellowship at 10:00am, and Worship at 10:30am. Everyone is Welcome! To see what else we're doing, go to: https://events.yodel.today/ newphiladelphia/
