Thought for Today
In this week after Easter, it is easy to go back to our "normal" lives and put the celebration that is Easter behind us. After all, it's over, isn't it? The candy is at least half eaten; the boiled eggs have been turned into egg salad for sandwiches, or incorporated into other recipes; and the flowers are just another chore we need to attend to with watering, and cleaning up dead leaves & petals. But it's NOT over ! It's just beginning. Christ's resurrection is the beginning of our Easter story; the very basis of our Christian faith. It's what gives us hope for all our tomorrows. As the hymn so famously says, "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow." Let's face tomorrow with newfound joy. Let's go forward in love, sharing the Good News of God's love for all people.
Being the Church The church is not a building, but a body of believers with a specific nature and purpose.
Bible Studies We have watched & studied three seasons of "The Chosen" so far. Stay tuned to see what comes next!
Community We work in our Community to get God's Word Out to Everyone. We provide many community events throughout the Year.
Praise & Worship
We are the Church! We are out in our community sharing God's Word. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.Missions
OUMC provides many mission projects throughout the year in our area and beyond. Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, Harbor House, East Elementary School-NP, Dress-a-Child, Share-a-Christmas, Heifer International, Food PantryGroup Fellowship
Otterbein Faith Fellowship, Senior Lunches, Prayer Groups, United Women in Faith, Bible StudiesFaith
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! John 8:24 unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.Hope
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Jeremiah 29: 11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13: 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Prayer
Risen Lord Jesus, help us to empty ourselves of all that hindersour awareness of your presence with us.Fill us with the joy of knowing your continuing presence,so that, like the disciples who first encountered the Resurrected Christ,we too might hasten to share this great good news with others.Amen.

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung Visit
The Bishop for the Ohio Episcopal Area of the United Methodist Church, Bishop Hee-Soo Jung paid a visit to Otterbein in February as part of his goal of visiting all 1,000 churches under his authority. He was eager to get to know a little about us and to pray with us for what we feel we need going forward.
We felt very honored and blessed by his presence, as this is the first time that any of us remember getting a visit from our Bishop.
